Welcome to the San Diego County Basketball Officials Association Training Page!

Training is important if you want to become a good official! Whether you’re an inexperienced basketball official or a veteran basketball official, training should be a consistent part of your officiating regimen. The fact is that good basketball officials seek new information constantly to get better. Here on the San Diego County Basketball Officials Association website training page, you will find helpful resources to improve your officiating; but there are many other resources online and in person that you should take advantage of if you want to become a good official.

Ejections

If an official ejects a player or coach from a high school basketball game, he or she should follow these steps. Have the scorekeeper(s) at the score table write down the following information:

  • First and Last name of the ejected player(s), coach(s), or administrator(s)
  • Get the player(s) jersey number
  • The time and the quarter when the player(s), coach(s), or administrator(s) was ejected
  • Contact and inform your “Assignment Secretary” about the ejection
  • Fill out the CIF Ejection Report and submit it to CIF
